Hints of fall are finally in the air here in Charleston. Autumn, our favorite season, brings with it many things, from pumpkin spice to bonfires, cozy clothes and, of course, rich and vibrant foliage and flowers. Fall is all about amazing textures, scents, and colors, and, as winter approaches, many flowers are going to seed and producing their final “hurrah” of the year.

We see lots of richer and more vibrant colors as a result of cooler temperatures during autumn months. While many picture dark orange, rust and red tones for fall, we’ve seen more burgundy, wine, blush, and pink tones emerging as the new trend for autumn on the coast. If you’re looking to start decorating your home for autumn, stop in and check out some of our favorite flowers we’ve got in stock this fall:

Hydrangeas

This season, we’ve got some stunning hydrangeas from Oregon in spectacular shades of greens, burgundy, dark blues and purples. What makes these hydrangeas colors different from the ones here? The cooler Oregon air! Fill a vase up with the beautiful blooms for a jaw-dropping fall centerpiece.

Seeded Eucalyptus

Seeded eucalyptus is another elegant flower perfect for home decor. Seeded eucalyptus has a slightly milder smell than the silver dollar or baby blue variety. Place it in a vase with some light pink and pale orange roses for a softer fall bouquet, or even make a beautiful wreath from these eucalyptus branches!

Celosia

Another fall bloom in the store this season is the celosia, or cockscomb, flower. Known for the unique wave of the petals, these stems make an eye-catching display by themselves or mixed in with other fresh flowers. The vibrant reds, yellows, and pinks fit in with your favorite autumn decor and look beautiful next to a table display of pumpkins!

Bittersweet

A highlight of the fall season is bittersweet, which we have in from Wisconsin. The bittersweet vine bursts open with orange berries this time of year that combines wonderfully with some crocosmia pods, ornamental millet, and maybe a couple sunflowers. Also, like the seeded eucalyptus, this flower also makes a lovely wreath with a pop of color ideal for the fall season!

In addition to the flowers above, we love the "Grand Bohemian" bouquet for this time of year, with its many textures and warm, vibrant hues. Pick up your seasonal autumn blooms or a lovely fall bouquet today at Charleston Flower Market!
